AFA have successfully lead the formation of the Public Service Medical Aid Scheme and the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS), who have acted as proud pillars for local communities.
Working closely with the private sector in 1991, AFA pioneered the establishment of private-open scheme Pula Medical Aid Fund (Pulamed), which has since grown to be the 2nd largest open-scheme in Botswana.
We have been instrumental in establishing an array of fully funded non-medical aid access to anti-retro viral therapy services in the private sector, as well as public HIV/AIDS disease management programs which have aided in controlling the scourge of HIV/AIDS in Botswana over the last thirty years.
